Some 5,000 people, most of them college students, gather on Boston Common to protest the Vietnam War. Howard Zinn is one of the speakers at the rally. Afterwards, 281 men turn in or burn their draft cards at a ceremony attended by a thousand people at the Arlington Street Church.
